Event of the Year

The most talked about day of the century finally came this morning when Kate Middleton, who will now be known as Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge, married Prince William - who takes on the title His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus.
I have to admit I wasn't really "feeling" the Royal Wedding until this morning. Once I met with some british friends of mine I was totally dragged into the Royal Wedding fever. And it felt really good!
There was such an amazing atmosphere around London and you could tell that most, if not all were also having the "Wedding Fever".
Today London has taken centre stage and are hosting more than 5000 street parties around the capital. But, the most magical moment of the day was of course when Catherine emerged from the car at Westminster Abbey.
Kate Middleton's royal wedding dress was immediatelly confirmed as having been designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. In ivory silk and lace, the long-sleeved, V-necked gown bears a two-metre train and is accessorised with a veil made of layers of soft, ivory silk tulle trimmed with hand-embroidered flowers, and the Cartier "halo" tiara, lent to Miss Middleton by The Queen.

Easter Bunny

There’s one time of year when we love to don a pair of bunny ears... Easter! Well, at least we have the excuse to do so.

Tatler brought the Easter Inspiration shooting Natalia Vodianova with their custom-made Philip Treacy straw ears and some lace lingerie from Etam. We can close our eyes to the clichés, because it’s both fun and timely.

Happy Easter!!!

Stripes Fashion Trend for Summer 2011

Spring 2011 has something stored for those of you who are nautically inclined and that is the classic navy and white color palette, worn as dominant stripes.

The style

Note that dominant stripes don’t mean bold stripes. While navy and white stripes are a must for the look the real key to Summer’s take on nautical stripes is that they dominate the outfit. It’s all about drawing attention to the stripes above all else.

While most looks rely on bold stripes, you’ll see that the trend is just as effective when the stripes are thin. Hence for Summer 2011 look for dominant stripes, not necessarily bold ones.

The pieces to wear in 2011

Summer stripes are not just a clothing trend, you can work them into any part of an outfit (just not all at once, please). Stripes can dominate an outfit in everything from hats to killer mini-dresses.

Katy Perry as new face of ghd

Quirky 26-year-old pop-star Katy Perry has certainly bagged herself a winning campaign as the new face of ghd new "Iconic Eras of Style" limited-edition collection and has posed for some glamorous snaps shot by world famous photographer David LaChappelle.

And it is the pop singer's ever-changing looks that Paul Stoneham, chief executive officer of ghd, believes makes Perry the perfect partner. "Katy completely embodies ghd's spirit of female transformation and empowerment, as she is recognized as acutting edge style icon unafraid to push fashion and beauty boundaries. Sassy, stylish and sexy," said Stoneham.

ghd's "Iconic Eras of Style" collection (available May 2011) is made up of three limited-edition styling tool kits: Glamour, Boho Chic and New Wave. Each kit contains the new ghd Gold classic ceramic styler, hair clips, a protective styler heat guard, heat resistant purse and step-by-step hairstyle instruction booklet showing how to recreate these iconic styles for yourself.

Glamour

1. Create a deep-side part using the ghd Tail Comb and take a horizontal section starting at the front of your head.
2. Place the ghd Gold Classic styler at the root of the hair and rotate it at 180 degrees, elevating upwards to create maximum lift. Glide the styler to the ends to fashion a curl.
3. For a stronger, longer lasting curl, roll each section back to the roots and secure with a bobby pin. Repeat until the entire head is curled.
4. Allow the hair to cool for 5-10 minutes. Release the bobby pins, allowing the hair to fall naturally and run your fingers through from root to ends. Spritz with hairspray for extra hold.

Boho Chic

1. Begin by creating a center part with the ghd Tail Comb. Then starting just above the ear, take a diagonal section and clip away any excess hair.
2. Place the ghd Gold Classic styler at the root of the hair. Rotate the styler at 180 degress and glide through to the ends to form a curl. Repeat throughout the entire head of hair.
3. Run your fingers through strands to loosen the movement.
4. Using your thumbs, make a part from the temples to the crown and clip the hair up and away.
5. Take a 1-inch section above the ear, braid to the ends and secure with a clear elastic. Repeat on the other side if two braids are desired.
6. Place the braids across the forehead and secure with a small bobby pin. Release the clip and allow the hair to fall freely over the braided headbands. Set style with hairspray.

3. Roll each section of curled hair back to the roots and secure with a bobby pin. Repeat until entire head is curled.
4. Allow the hair to cool for 5-10 minutes. Release the bobby pins and allow locks to fall naturally. With your head upside down, shake curls loose. Throw your head back and tease with fingers to achieve desired shape. Set with hairspray.

Welcome to the jungle

Christian Dior not only never disappoints, but also manages to surprise every time. This one's for all of us leopard print lovers!

Elegance and sensuality are the words that best match the new Spring Summer 2011 make up collection, a line that bears the name of Mitzah Bricard, muse and inspiration for Dior back in 1940.

This luxurious and exclusive palette is a couture must-have that reflects a legendary character, a romantic heroine who dared to indulge in unique extravagance. Slipped into a black velvet pouch also decorated inside with the feline print. The palette has been made in a very similar way to that of Renne Gruau handmade-palette and handfinished. The attention to details is sublime, making it an even more time consuming and complicated layering process than the Gruau.

Diamond slippers

Thinking of buying some new slippers? Here's my choice!

The world's most expensive pair of shoes has been created by House of Borgezie.
This masterpiece, handcrafted from solid gold or platinum, is encrusted with 2200 hand-set brilliant-cut diamonds weighing 30 carats in total. Retail price is £140,000.

Creator Christopher Michael Shellis, a British jewellery designer, decided to make the shoes to "create a unique form of jewellery which you can wear on your feet", but the brand has yet to sell a pair.

House of Borgezie offers an "eternity guarantee" - which lasts up to 1,000 years - and the shoes have a removable sole and heel which can be replaced to keep this investment looking pristine. So far only 5 pairs have been created and Christopher Shellis asserts that no more than 50 will be available worldwide to ensure exclusivity. Hurry up to make part of this group!

Let's get the party started...
